WLB 2015/16 Preview | Scottish Championship | How They’ll Finish

IT looks another intriguing Scottish Championship this season. Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) lists the Top 10 in order.

Scottish Championship | How They’ll Finish

1. Rangers (1/2)

After the extraordinary shambles of last season we simply have to expect a big improvement this time round. The new playing staff look hungry and in Mark Warburton Rangers have hired a manager of immense potential.

2. Hibs (5/2)

There was lots to like about Hibs last season once they found their groove in the autumn. One league defeat in 22 saw them finish above Rangers but that’s unlikely to be replicated with the Ibrox club looking much improved. Easter Road hero Scott Allan also looks on his way to Rangers, a devastating loss for Hibs.

3. St Mirren (8/1)

A disastrous season in the top flight last year for St Mirren but it’s all change now with ex-Dumbarton manager Ian Murray in charge. He’s cleared out a chunk of deadwood and brought in Scott Agnew from his old club. Murray will look to build towards a proper title tilt next season.

4. Falkirk (33/1)

Scottish Cup finalists and the only side to beat Hearts while the title was still to play for, there’s no doubt the Bairns can put most sides’ nose out of joint. The loss of Rory Loy to Dundee will hurt them and a place in the play-offs will be their chief target.

5. Queen Of The South (33/1)

For Queens fans it’s been a heartbreaking summer as their young team has been picked apart by bigger clubs. Manager James Fowler has brought in new blood to replace the losses but can they click?

6. Dumbarton (150/1)

New manager Stephen Aitken has brought in a fascinating array of new signings and the Sons might just surprise a few people this season. Captain and ex-Scotland international Darren Barr can be a positive influence on the side.

7. Alloa (150/1)

On the brink of relegation for lengthy periods last season it’s incredible Alloa survived. Now though with Danny Lennon in charge for his first full season the Wasps can improve.

8. Raith Rovers (66/1)

Rovers have a new manager in the shape of Ray McKinnon but the ex-Brechin manager might just have a tough time replicating the sterling work of Grant Murray. It could be a tough season for the Kirkcaldy club.

9. Livingston (150/1)

It was a tough season for Mark Burchill’s Livingston in 2014/15 and with the loss of Shaun Rutherford and Kyle Jacobs to Queen Of The South it could get a whole lot worse this time round.

10. Morton (100/1)

Promoted from the third tier last season, the step up in class will be tricky for Morton. Signings look thin on the ground and last year’s League 1 hardly looked a vintage renewal.
