DANIEL MCCULLOCH (@DMcCulloch1984) is back to share his betting thoughts on Super Sunday’s showdown between West Ham and Man Utd.
West Ham v Manchester United | Sunday 22nd September 2019, 14:00 | Sky Sports
Having backed West Ham away to Aston Villa on Monday night I was disappointed with the showing the East London club produced.
The Hammers were insipid as they created very little against a team I expect to struggle this term. From an attacking perspective they certainly weren’t equal to the sum of their parts as I expected far more from the likes of Andriy Yarmolenko, Manuel Lanzini and Felipe Anderson.
Still, a point away from home is not to be sniffed at, especially when down to ten men for the final quarter and I expect them to at least match that feat when they face Manchester United on Sunday.
United have endured a tough start to the season, losing at home to Crystal Palace and also failing to beat Wolves and Southampton. At first glance, it appears as though United should have earned more points and would have but for missed penalties against Wolves and Palace.
However, they rarely pass the eye test these days and with the exception of the latter stages of the game against Chelsea, they’ve created very little from open play.
West Ham won this fixture last season and also earned creditable draws at home to both Chelsea and Liverpool. I expect a better attacking output this weekend in what promises to be a tough encounter for United. I don’t see West Ham losing but will air on the safe side and back West Ham in the Draw No Bet market at 13/10 with Unibet.
