HOW does your team fare in the ultimate Boxing Day table? We looked at clubs’ records on 26 December to find out which teams performed best on Boxing Day.

How Does Your Team Fare?

It’s probably no surprise to see Manchester United at the top of the tree – the Red Devils did lose on Boxing Day under Louis van Gaal in 2015/16 but England’s most successful side still boast a better record than any other on the 26 December (W50-D15-L27).

United have also scored 185 Boxing Day goals in total – more than any other team.

League One’s Oxford are a surprise second with highly-flying Championship outfit Brighton tucked in just behind in third. Both sides have enjoyed around a 50% win rate in the festive fixture.

Liverpool were the only other Premier League team to make it into the top-10 – which only included clubs that had played over 20 Boxing Day fixtures.

At the other end of the table, Newport – who have played 48 Boxing Day fixtures – have the worst record on 26 December, with just 10 wins.

The highest-scoring Boxing Day fixture was in 1935 when Tranmere Rovers thrashed Oldham Athletic 13-4 at Prenton Park. Indeed, Oldham have conceded 155 goals on Boxing Day, more than any other team.
