CHRIS Graham (@ChrisGraham79) returns with his second weekend spread betting column in association with Spreadex.
Sunday Premier League | Sunday 12:00
It was great to get off to positive start last weekend with this spread betting column. A buy of goals in the Watford v Leicester game at 2.65 remarkably turned a profit after just 16 minutes as three goals had already been notched.
A change of tact this week. Firstly, I’m going to concentrate on Sundays for this column as I only look at Saturday games for my general Premier League column. Secondly, instead of focusing on just one game I’m looking at Sunday as a whole this weekend.
Busy Sunday
Due to the Europa League on Thursday it means we have four matches taking place on the day of rest. First up at noon, Watford host Stoke in a mid-table clash before the intriguing clash between a slightly flat Arsenal and a buoyant Bournemouth.
There’s a double bill at 16:30 as Ronald Koeman returns to his old stomping ground as his Everton charges go to Southampton while Manchester United look to build on their big win on Thursday when they welcome West Ham.
Again, goals are what I’m looking at and Spreadex are offering a spread of 10.8 and 11.2 in these four fixtures combined. If you want to sell and go low have 10.8 as their mark while those who want to buy and go high have 11.2 as their target.
I’m going to go low on Sunday and sell 10.8 goals meaning that if 11 or more goals are scored in these games combined I lose while if 10 or fewer are notched I see profit.
Cautious game
The opening clash between Watford and Stoke worries me the most as it has the propensity to produce a silly scoreline with Watford in the game. The Hornets were goal-heavy in the early part of the season but it’s quietened down in recent weeks (bar the 6-1 loss to Liverpool) and I’m hoping Stoke anchor the fixture a bit.
Both games between Arsenal and Bournemouth last season produced exactly two goals I’m expecting something similar on Sunday. I’d be surprised if Arsenal ran away with the fixture and the Cherries shut out Tottenham at the end of last month.
Southampton have fell into the bottom half of the table after four league games without a win and crucially the Saints aren’t scoring. The return of Koeman may inspire them but with Everton also under a cloud I think will see a cautious game with both manager settling for a point.
Manchester United should beat West Ham but it’s rare for them for give someone a doing these days in the league. A fallow 0-0 draw can never be ruled out with Jose Mourinho’s side and I’m happy to be on the sell side.
Staking
I’ll stake £10 on a sell of 10.8 goals and hope for the best. If exactly 10 are scored I’ll be 0.8 goals up which means I’ll have made £8 (£10 x 0.8 = £8). A make up of just seven goals on Sunday would see me up by 3.8 and raking in a £38 profit (£10 x 3.8 = £38). But of course this can go wrong and exactly 11 goals will result in a £2 loss (£10 x 0.2 = £2) with 16 notched resulting in a £52 hit (£10 x 5.2 = £52).
Hope you understand all this. Feel free to tweet me or WeLoveBetting for more information about spread betting. It’s great fun once you get the hang of it.
