NON-LEAGUE expert Paul Maddison (@LouthBigDog) shares his best bets from Bank Holiday Monday night’s live action in the National League.
Solihull Moors v Eastleigh | Monday 26th August 2019, 19:45 | BT Sport
On Bank Holiday Monday night in front of the live television cameras, Solihull have the chance to quickly put their first loss of the season behind them as they take on a struggling Eastleigh side, who haven’t won since the opening day of the season.
The Moors sat top of the table before the weekend’s fixtures, where on Saturday they were beaten by – Woking who have leap frogged ahead of them in the standings. It was the Midlands’-based club’s first taste of defeat this term, but they still hold a 100% home record and are still the leading goalscorers in the division too.
Away from home, Eastleigh have played three teams that will probably be finishing the season in mid-table, yet the guests are still waiting for their first point and goal on the road.
I like the look of Solihull to win ‘to ni’l at 9/4, but after calling a 0-0 at the weekend that finished 4-1, I’m going to stay away from the sides keeping clean sheets. elsewhere, Marathon are a standout 4/5 on a home win and that looks a cracking price.
I’m also having a stab in First Goalscorer market with the Moors attacking midfielder Jamey Osborne. He’s a player I’ve seen quite a bit of as he played for Grimsby a couple of seasons ago; he likes to get forward and won’t think twice about having a shot from range.
Osborne is technically very gifted and didn’t look out of place in League Two. He’s also started this season in fine form, netting three goals already, all coming at Damson Park. I’m backing him each-way at 10/1 with Bet365.
