WOLVES continue their Europa League journey in Slovakia on Thursday night with a trip to face Slovan Bratislava. Anthony Olsson (@Ant_olsson93) analyses the encounter.
Slovan Bratislava v Wolves | Thursday 24th October 2019, 17:55 | BT Sport
Wolves go on the road again to face Slovan Bratislava in their third Europa League group-stage game. The visitors will be looking to put in another strong performance, as they did against Besiktas when they came away with all three points thanks to a late Willy Boly goal.
Bratislava have started their European campaign in great fashion picking up four points from their opening two games. Slovan have lost just one game in the competition this term and they have demonstrated a strong attack in their eight outings, notching twice or more six times, although they have leaked in five fixtures.
The Slovakian side are in good form and are unbeaten in nine, averaging 3.44 goals in this run, conceding 0.89 goals per-game. Slovan also beat Besiktas – coming from 2-1 down to win 4-2 at home – and the hosts will be hoping to produce a similar display on Thursday night.
For this game I think we will see goals, Bratislava have been capable of scoring and I think they have a good chance of finding the back of the net against a Wolves side who aren;t as strong as they could be at the back. The guests conceded first to Southampton in their last game and I think they could come under some early pressure in Bratislava. Both Teams To Score in is 10/11 (Sport Nation).
I mentioned that Slovan have had problems defending and I think Wolves should be able to get past them. Wolves have a very good attack, managing to score seven goals in their last five away days in all competitions, so I don’t think they’ll be shy in going forward. I like the look of Wolves to win and Over 2.5 Goals in the match at 17/10 (Paddy Power).
In the cards market, Joeri de Kamps to be shown a card is 2/1 (Sky Bet). Kamps has four yellows and a red I eight encounters, and should he start, I think he looks the prime candidate to pick up another at a nice price.
Kamps didn’t start the last game so his manager might have clicked on to him being a bit of a liability in midfield when it comes to discipline. If Kamps starts, I think he could have a bit of trouble against a highly-experienced Wolves midfield.
