HARLEY DALE (@HarIeeyy) is here to share his research and best bets ahead of Sheffield United’s intriguing tussle with Chelsea on Saturday evening.
Sheffield United vs Chelsea | Saturday 11th July 2020, 17:30 | Sky Sports
We’re slowing approaching the closing stages of the Premier League and matchweek 35 sees Chelsea travel to Bramall Lane lane in a top-half clash against in-form Sheffield United. With European places still up for grabs, both teams will want to tally some crucial points to edge closer to their desired positions.
Sheffield United have shown some mixed form post lockdown since the restart; winless in the first four matches in all competitions, but have recently won back to-back home wins against Wolves and Tottenham – a testament to the team’s work rate and manager Chris Wilder’s tactical insight.
The same cannot be said for Chelsea, who have won five of their six games since the restart including an impressive 2-1 victory against Manchester City. Although the Blues suffered a stumbling block against West Ham, Frank Lampard’s team look like they can score at any given opportunity, scoring in 10 of their last 11.
Conversely, the Blades have displayed an impressive scoring habit at home, scoring in 13/17 matches at Bramall Lane – with two of those exceptions against giants Liverpool and Manchester City.
The Blades have also won their last three home matches and, with the team’s expect high morale, Chelsea’s defence will have to put in a shift if they want that clean sheet they’ll be seeking. However, given that Lampard’s men have kept just one clean sheet away this season, I’m not convinced we’ll see a change of trend.
Andre Marriner is the man in charge for this clash, who ranks bottom for yellow cards dished out, giving just 2.50 cards per-game and 2.00 cards per-game since the restart.
Although Wilder’s men play attractive football and have had a wonderful season, they seem to lack a player or two with flair, someone who can beat a man and make things happen. Therefore, it’s no surprise to see them rank down in 19th for dispossessions due to their unique style of play.
Chelsea have been well disciplined since the restart, picking up just three yellow cards in their five matches and with the inevitability of the Blues dominating possession, I don’t see them having to make many tackles or commit fouls as much as they perhaps would normally.
With all this being said, I expect Both Teams To Score and another well-disciplined show from Chelsea as they dominate the match. However, I will play a slightly safer bet and take Over 1.5 Goals and Chelsea Under 1.5 Cards at evens (Bet365).
