Serie A Tips | 31st January 2015 | BT Sport

OUR man in Rome Marco Di Cosmo (@scioltz) has lined up two bets from Saturday’s Serie A action for us.

Genoa v Fiorentina | Saturday 17.00 | BT Sport 2

I think the market is underrating Genoa’s chances at home on Saturday. The two sides are separated by just three points, with Genoa having failed to record a victory from their last three outings at the Marassi – losing to Roma and collecting draws against Sassuolo and Atalanta.

The Rossoblu aren’t in the best of form but they showed signs of improvement against Napoli when going down 2-1. A dodgy penalty separated the sides last Sunday.

Fiorentina have recently sold Juan Cuadrado to Chelsea and this will effect the team’s performances, as the Colombian international was surely the main offensive threat of the Viola. I think this match could easily end in a draw, but with Bet365 offering 8/11 on the Double Chance, I’m delighted to get the home win and draw onside at a backable price.

Roma v Empoli | Saturday 19.45 | BT Sport 1

Before recommending one of my best bet sof the season in 2014 for Roma to beat Inter, the Giallorossi had won every game at the Olimpico by a two-goal margin, without even conceding.

Since then, Roma seriously hampered their Serie A prospects, drawing five of their last seven and falling seven points behind Juventus in the race for the Scudetto. I’m stunned to see they’re now winless at the Olimpico for two months, having drawn the derby against Roma and also held to a point by Milan and Sassuolo.

I’m fully expecting a return to winning ways on Saturday night for the capital club. Empoli are an organised team, and as I said before, my favourite side to follow in the whole of Serie A for this season, but they’re really lacking quality or a finishing touch.

Rudi Garcia’s hosts are a little overpriced in the market (Juve are the same price for their away trip to Udinese), In their last three matches, Roma have started poorly and needed to recover after the interval.

But I’m sure Garcia will put a strong emphasis on a fast start and we should see reaction from the team from the first whistle so take Roma-Roma in the HT-FT market at 6/5 with BetVictor.
