Serie A Tips | 30th November 2014

ANOTHER round of Serie A matches to enjoy and Mark O’Haire (@MarkOHaire) in the hot-seat, hunting more winning bets.

Cagliari v Fiorentina | Sunday 14.00

The Zdenek Zeman effect has taken hold at Cagliari. Often described as overseeing ‘football porn’, the veteran coach prefers his team to play at electric pace with a focus on outscoring the opposition, no matter what the situation.

Unusual for Italian football, matches involving Zeman’s side are often littered with goals and after a slow start, that’s what we’re seeing from the Rossoblu this season with 7/12 (58%) of league games producing Over 2.5 Goals and 5/12 (42%) featuring Over 3.5 Goals.

Both teams have scored in every match at the Stadio Sant’Elia this season too so with that in mind, it’s a visit to the Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams To Score market with evens on offer from Bet365. Although I wouldn’t put anyone off taking the 2/1 from Sportingbet on Over 3.5 Goals.

Fiorentina aren’t short of firepower themselves, netting in 18/25 (72%) Serie A away games since the start of last season, with their last two road trips seeing a total of seven goals, they’ve begun to open up.

Palermo v Parma | Sunday 14.00

I’m going to keep this nice and sweet. I watched Palermo’s match at Genoa on Monday night expecting a home win. But the Sicilians were outstanding and looked so dangerous on the break.

They’re playing with confidence and head into this meeting with rock bottom Parma on the back of a four-match unbeaten spell that includes two wins. Even more impressive, the Rosanero have kept two clean sheets in those four fixtures having leaked 17 in the previous eight rounds.

In Paulo Dybala and Franco Vázquez, Palermo have two Argentine stars in the making and both are more than capable of adding to Parma’s nightmare run on Sunday. And I make the hosts a bet at 19/20 with Ladbrokes.

The visitors have made their worst ever start to a league season, losing 10 of their 12 league matches. They’ve failed to score in four of their last six and been beaten on away days at fellow strugglers Cesena, Atalanta and Torino already this campaign.

Roberto Donadoni’s job is hanging by a thread. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a defeat at the Stadio Renzo Barbera end his coaching career with Parma.
