Serie A Tips | 30th August 2015

OUR man in Italy Marco Di Cosmo (@scioltz) returns with three Serie A picks this Sunday.

Roma v Juventus | Sunday 17:00 | BT Sport Europe

Just like in the English Premier League, the two best teams in the league will meet in the second week of the season in the Serie A with Roma hosting Juventus in what could be a crucial match for the title.

I’m not expecting the home side to tear the visitors apart like we saw at the Etihad two weeks ago but I am confident AS Roma will be give a damaged Juventus side a hard time on Sunday.

The bianconeri have a number of significant absences and they won’t be in their best frame of mind after last week’s shock defeat to Udinese and the loss of Julian Draxler to Wolfsburg.

The signing of Edin Dzeko for Roma will boost the giallorossi and I’d be very surprised if they lost here. I’ll be backing them on the Draw No Bet market.

Carpi v Inter | Sunday 19:45

I was utterly stunned when I saw the market opening with such big odds for Inter in this match. I simply had to take advantage and get stuck right in.

The neroazzurri have had an important transfer window and the signings of Geoffrey Kondogbia, Miranda and Stevan Jovetic look shrewd purchases.

Carpi are probably the weakest side in the league, along with the new promoted Frosinone, and they have already been thrashed away by Sampdoria last week. The newly promoted side leaked five goals.

Inter should have no problems registering a win here and I’ll be topping up my bet on Roberto Mancini’s side. Those odds are still too generous not to get involved.

Genoa v Verona | Sunday 19:45

Goals are always a big factor when these two sides meet in Serie A. Their last match-up ended with Genoa winning 5-2 at Marassi and I’m expecting something similar on Sunday.

When playing against mid-table sides Verona like to play offensive and tend to abandon their defensive instincts. You can say the same about Genoa under Giampiero Gasperini, who always likes to attack and play at high intensity. I’m confident in backing goals here again then and I expect the two sides to give us some joy in this Sunday night match.

Best Bets

Roma v Juventus – Roma Draw No Bet (19/20 Coral)

Carpi v Inter – Inter to win (8/11 BetVictor)

Genoa v Verona – Over 2.5 Goals (10/11 Paddy Power)
