HE just missed out on a full house last week but Marco Di Cosmo (@scioltz) is back with more Serie A bets this Sunday.
AC Milan v Sassuolo | Sunday 14:00 | BT Sport Extra
Despite a big summer transfer window AC Milan have not significantly improved from last season. To be honest I never presumed they would be contenders for the title as many suggested but at the same time I don’t think they are as bad as we’ve seen so far this season.
Their big names in attack will have an impact at some point this season and I expect them to hit form for sure. On Sunday they host Sassuolo who are performing well and sit in fifth place.
Sassuolo love to attack and are always a menace to the big clubs in Italy as shown in their defeats of Lazio and Napoli and draw against Roma.
I think this could be an intriguing and entertaining match. I wouldn’t be surprised if AC Milan win it, but I prefer to side with goals as Sassuolo are really likely to score at least once.
Fiorentina v Roma | Sunday 17:00 | BT Sport 1
Another corker on Sunday as Fiorentina host Roma. This is first against second in the table and Roma have certainly hit form after a difficult start.
The giallorossi arrive here on the back of a 4-4 draw at Leverkusen. That match illustrated their total unreliability and hard to predict nature. This stems from the problems they have defensively. Ironically this was their strength just a year and a half ago.
Roma have scored 20 goals this season and have the best attack in the league by far but they’ve conceded 10 and kept just one clean sheet in the whole season. I’m not expecting them to get a clean sheet on Sunday.
At the moment the Artemio Franchi is the hardest ground in the league to play at. Fiorentina have four wins out of four and are scoring an average of two goals per game.
I think they can keep it even against Roma but I am expecting them to concede unlike in their four other home games. There’s a wide range of attacking talent on show and I’m expecting goals here.
Chievo v Napoli | Sunday 19:45 | BT Sport 1
Napoli have been absolutely flying for the last month and a half. Thankfully I got on board this train early as I immediately recognized Napoli’s strength after new coach Maurizio Sarri adapted his style to the this team. Since then the numbers are impressive and I make them contenders for the Scudetto.
On Sunday they have a tough test at Chievo, where the partenopei have won in the last two occasions. Chievo are not a bad team despite not having significant names, they play a good brand of football and I think they will be safe from any relegation worries.
Napoli are on another level though. Their form is great, with Gonzalo Higuain scoring for fun every time he touches the ball (he might be thinking about Gerardo Martino and his unintelligible call ups). With this in mind, having Napoli to win at Chievo is the safest bet here and I am happy to back at such prices.
