Milan 2015

MARK O’Haire (@MarkOHaire) has lined up three value betting opportunities for Both Teams To Score punters in Serie A this Sunday.

Palermo v Fiorentina | Sunday 14.00

For weeks now (it might even be months) I’ve begging anyone that can bothered to listen, to give Serie A a chance. It’s enjoyed a real transformation in the past two years or so and is now a real hotbed for goals and attacking intent.

Sadly, the negative stereotypes continue to stunt its growth in the UK but I can assure you, the majority of clubs plying their trade in the Italian top-flight are forward-thinking. You just need to look, compare and contrast the goal records in Serie A to that of its European counterparts – Serie A is out-scoring the Premier League this season!

So I’m going to continue on the theme of picking out big value Both Teams To Score bets. Atalanta and Genoa did the business for us last Sunday with the bet banking before half-time and I’m hoping for something similar this weekend when Palermo welcome Fiorentina to Sicily.

I’ve had to be quick as the price seems to be shrinking on an hourly basis but at the time of writing, Boylesports are dangling 7/10 in our direction on BTTS and that’s just too good to ignore. Get on quick before it’s cut even further (some firms are as short 4/9); by my estimation it should be around 1/2 – making that 7/10 a good value selection.

Palermo bagged a 1-0 win away to Cagliari in the island derby last time out but taking their results at their Stadio Renzo Barbera home in isolation, the Rosanero have returned a huge 13/18 (72%) of Both Teams To Score winners, netting in all bar three and keeping just three clean sheets across the same spread.

Fiorentina remain in a battle for a Europa League place and managed to bag a third successive Serie A victory on Monday when strolling to a 3-0 success over beleaguered Parma. It was the ninth game in 10 that La Viola had proved profitable for Over 2.5 Goals backers and Vincenzo Montella’s men have been good for goal-hungry punters this season.

On the road, the Tuscans have scored in 14 of their 18 away league fixtures but kept just three shutouts of their own. Unsurprisingly, they also feature high on the BTTS table with 11/18 (61%) of their matches away from Florence seeing goals at both ends.

If we put the two teams’ home and away Both Teams To Score records together and find the average, we should have a 67% expectancy for BTTS to bank again. If we put that percentage expectancy into odds, we’d be looking at around a 1/2 shot on Sunday; it makes Boylesports’ 7/10 big value. But be quick!

Udinese v Sassuolo | Sunday 14.00

It’s a similar story when Udinese take on Sassuolo. Both sides are playing out their campaign in the bottom half of the season with a sense of freedom. But again, it’s their penchant for goals that has grabbed my attention.

Udinese have netted in all bar three of their 18 home league matches this season but their record of only three clean sheets at their Stadio Friuli base has led to a huge 12/18 (67%) of Both Teams To Score winners – the last six Little Zebras’ games on home soil have rewarded BTTS backers.

Last weekend Sassuolo saw off Milan 3-2 in front of their own fans as Eusebio Di Francesco’s men continue to upset the odds. The Neroverdi may have only bagged four road wins this campaign but they have managed to score in 13 of those 18 fixtures. Sassuolo have shutout their opponents on the road in only five matches leading us onto a very impressive 12/18 (67%) Both Teams To Score encounters when playing away.

Ten of the Neroverdi’s last 12 on their travels have delivered for BTTS punters. If we put both teams’ respective home/away Both Teams To Score records together and find the average, we should be looking at a 67% chance of a repeat on Sunday. In betting terms, that percentage chance would equate to odds of just 1/2; Ladbrokes are offering 8/13.

AC Milan v Torino | Sunday 19.45 | BT Sport 1

If we stay on the same theme of hunting for BTTS value, Milan’s tussle with Torino in front of the BT cameras on Sunday night should ne next in line to deliver. Ladbrokes are again offering 8/13 on Both Teams To Score but looking a the stats, we should be expecting something closer to 4/7. Yes, it’s value!

Milan boss Pipo Inzaghi is on his last legs as Rossoneri coach. Having taken 14 points from his first seven matches in charge, things have gone down hill for the club legend. The following 29 Serie A outings have returned just W7-D11-L11 and has seen the Italian giants languishing in the bottom half of the table. Milan have lost four of their last five and there’s an offer for Sevilla boss Unai Emery to join the club for next season.

But rather focus on the toils of the San Siro club, we’re looking at their strong potential for a BTTS winner. Under Inzaghi, the Rossoneri have scored in all bar three of their 18 home fixtures but only managed a paltry four clean sheets. That’s led to 11/18 (61%) of Both Teams To Score winners in league action at the San Siro.

Torino’s campaign appears to have tailed off with just two three-pointers in seven. The demands of the Europa League seem to have caught up with Giampiero Ventura’s squad but the Granata remain a force when it comes to winning BTTS selections.

The Bulls have only been shut out on four occasions on the road this season but only kept their opponents at bay in four away Serie A encounters. A healthy 12/18 (67%) of their travelling games have delivered Both Teams To Score winners, so we’re right to assume another should be on the agenda come Sunday night.
