OUR man in Italy, Marco Di Cosmo (@scioltz) pens his highly anticipated Serie A column. Will he have another sensational week?
Inter Milan v SPAL | Sunday 11:30 | BT Sport 2
We should expect goals to flow in midday match. Inter Milan are looking for their third consecutive win to start a promising season and they have all numbers to perform that. Again, the likelihood of their offensive trio producing enough quality to score very easily. Plus, they should be joined by Portuguese international Joao Mario and this should push things even more forward.
Spal is already performing good in their Serie A campaign. They were able to win despite conceding two against Udinese, and I consider them candidates to suffer at least two goals here.
Backing Inter Milan to win with more than two goals scored in the game should seal without many problems.
Benevento v Torino | Sunday 17:00 | BT Sport Europe
No weather alarms in Benevento, and hopefully things will flow regularly. Torino is my candidate for the surprise of the season, as they have added so much quality to their teams and moreover they’ve been able to keep Andrea Belotti as their center striker.
The youngster is no doubt the best Italian number 9 at the present day. He’s scoring ability is something remarkable and I have little worries they will be able to notch at least once in Benevento as well.
Torino play a very offensive football, as we’ve seen last season. Benevento has looked vulnerable so far and should concede very likely. I also expect the home side to be dangerous here, and that is why I am happy to side simply with over 2.5 goals in the game.
Bologna v Napoli | Sunday 19:45 | BT Sport Europe
Lastly, I find very interesting odds on Napoli to beat Bologna with the addition of some goals.
In the previous season, this game finished 1-7 in one of the most memorable performances of Maurizio Sarri’s band. That performance had been the explosion of Dries Mertens as a center-striker, as he scored a hat-trick showing all his incredible skills.
I’m not expecting the same thing this season, but I still rate Napoli far too superior and I am confident in their ability to win.
The Partenopei have shown great resilience even when in hard times against Atalanta, and they should keep their run going exploiting Bologna’s defensive deficits.
