Serie A: Higuain to fire Old Lady to within touching distance of the title

Gonzala-Higuain - Juventus

OUR man in Italy, Marco Di Cosmo (@scioltz) looks to continue his hot streak in Serie A with his best Sunday selections.

Atalanta v Fiorentina | Sunday 11:30 | BT Sport

Pound-for-pound Atalanta are surely the best team in this Serie A season and their magnificent season has probably reached its peak with the 2-0 victory in Naples.

Such a performance have put the Bergamaschi in the position to fight even for a Champions League spot. Honestly, I do not believe they will reach the top-three but if we think that this team started the season trying to avoid relegation, it’s quite remarkable.

On the other hand, Fiorentina are living one of the most disappointing seasons of their recent history.

However, I still rate their offensive ability, and despite having dropped so many points against smaller teams, their ability to score is still consistent, as showed especially against any kind of team, even away from the Artemio Franchi.

For this reason I like Both Teams To Score (10/13 188BET) in a battle that could also see Atalanta prevailing.

Cagliari v Inter Milan | Sunday 14:00

Inter Milan’s form have been snapped by a 3-1 beating by Roma in San Siro, where their opponents gave a lesson to the Nerazzurri in the late evening Sunday match.

That’s not a huge surprise though, as Inter are clearly a work-in progress: their transfer windows are always very active and they are settling to find their best form.

The quality of Inter’s footballers has been enough against smaller teams, as they have not dropped points since November.

Their continuity in such games makes me think that they will have the best chances to win also in Cagliari, where the home side often like to concede (they are the second worst home defence in Serie A), so I will back Inter to score twice at least at 8/13 (Bet365).

Torino v Palermo | Sunday 14:00

Keep having faith in goals when Torino is in action. Either if they lose or win a constant in Torino’s games are goals, as evidently showed by stats.

This game won’t be much different in my opinion, as Palermo will play to win to give them a desperate chance of survival.

Torino have the right weapons to kill any hopes from the visitors as they score an average of more than 2.00 goals per-game on their home ground.

I will back the Granata simply to score two or more goals at 8/15 (BetStarts), plus I am backing the Bulls to win and Over 2.5 goals in the match at 6/5 (BetStars).

Udinese v Juventus | Sunday 14:00 | BT Sport

Juve have the chance to virtually win their sixth consecutive Serie A title, as they might go ahead of 10 points ahead of Roma if they get a win in Udine.

Honestly, this is not one of the toughest ground of the league, as showed by Udinese’s record, which counts already six losses in 13 home games.

Juve have already sealed qualification to the Champions League and hasn’t much other competition to worry about, so their focus will be decisive on this game.

I expect them the Old Lady to be ruthless in order to play the final part of the season more relaxed, only focusing on European competition.

Back the Bianconeri to win plus Gonzalo Higuain simply to score at 5/4 (Paddy Power).
