THE DAILY RECORD’S Mr Fixit (@mrfixitstips) picks out his three best bets in Scotland this weekend.
Kilmarnock v Ross County | Saturday 15:00
Kilmarnock have gambled by cashing-in on prize asset Souleymane Coulibaly and could pay the penalty this weekend.
Lee Clark turned Coulibaly into a £1million asset in six months and most Scottish clubs can’t turn down that sort of money.
Clark’s task is to find a replacement and that won’t be easy. The Egypt-bound star netted half of the club’s goals and Killie could draw a blank when Ross County visit.
Jim McIntyre’s men have notched impressive wins either side of the winter break – 3-2 against Inverness and 6-2 when Dundee United visited in the Scottish Cup last week.
County have also won seven on the bounce against Killie – including their last four visits to Rugby Park – so have no problem with the plastic pitch and beat the Ayrshire side 2-0 at home earlier in the season.
The Dingwall men look good for the victory at 11/8 with Paddy Power against a side who are winless in seven and haven’t scored in their last four.
Raith v Dumbarton | Saturday 15:00
Raith return to league business after taking Premiership side Hearts all the way to extra time following two 1-1 draws finally being put to the sword in their cup replay.
That should give Gary Locke’s men a boost as they try avoid making it 10 Championship outings without a win when Dumbarton head to Fife hoping to arrest a three-game losing streak of their own.
It’s seventh v eighth in the table with both teams still locked in a survival battle and there could be goals.
The Sons have a knack of netting on their travels – three of their last four away games have seen both teams score – and will fancy their chances of hitting the target against a Rovers side whose legs could be feeling the effects of their cup exertions.
Take Both Teams To Score at 4/5 with Bet365.
Peterhead v Queen’s Park | Saturday 15:00
League One Queen’s Park are another side who suffered glorious failure in the Cup, losing to Championship strugglers Ayr on penalties in a midweek defeat that could take its toll on the amateurs.
They face the long trip north to Balmoor where they’ve already been beaten 2-0 this season.
Peterhead are having an inconsistent season but have won two of their last three games, both against top-four sides, and still boast one of the division’s best marksmen in Rory McAllister.
The Blue Toon can cap a miserable week for leg-weary Queen’s by taking the points in this one at evens with William Hill.
