WILLIE Duncan (@Willie_Duncan) tucks into the Friday night Scottish game for his weekend nap.
Inverness v Rangers | Friday 19:45 | BT Sport 1
Since the first ball was kicked in the Scottish Premiership this season, there has barely been a dull day at Ibrox. Unfortunately for Mark Warburton and his men, positive headlines have been in short supply and there has been far more drama than delight for Rangers thus far this term.
After a thoroughly miserable week for the national side, Scottish football fans will be desperate for excitement and Friday’s fixture between Rangers and inconsistent Inverness Caledonian Thistle could produce it by the bucket load.
Home games for Richie Foran’s side have produced a glut of goals so far this season, with no fewer than 23 goals having been scored in the last five competitive fixtures at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.
Furthermore, Inverness – the only team to have taken points from Celtic so far this season – have seen at least three goals scored in eight of their last nine Scottish Premiership fixtures on home turf.
Rangers have scored in each of their six competitive games on the road thus far this season, with four of their last five away days producing more than two goals.
Warburton’s side had gone four matches without a win in the Premiership before steadying the ship with a 2-0 defeat of Partick Thistle in Govan before the international break but, even at odds against, I’m not tempted to side with the visitors this time around.
Inverness can be woeful or they can be wonderful and it’s nigh on impossible to tell what we’ll get for Richie Foran’s side, but the goals tend to flow in the Highlands and backing that trend to continue could well prove profitable for punters.
It is, therefore, the 39/40 quote for more than two goals to be scored that is the recommended play for punters ahead of Friday’s fixture.
