Scottish Football Tips | Mr Fixit’s Treble | 10th September 2016

THE Daily Record’s Mr Fixit (@mrfixittips) shares his best bets on Saturday’s Old Firm and the rest of Scottish football.

Celtic v Rangers | Saturday 12:00 | Sky Sports 2

There’s only one game in town on Saturday – and let’s hope we’re talking about the football and nothing else. Although there’s as much chance of that as Donald Trump booking a holiday to Mexico.

The Old Firm have met twice in cups since Rangers’ liquidation – and it’s honours even although Mark Warburton’s men have the bragging rights after last season’s Scottish Cup semi-final win on penalties.

However, Gers haven’t looked at their best this season while Celtic are on the rise under Brendan Rodgers, although the Hoops’ top scorer Leigh Griffiths is an injury doubt for this high-noon showdown.

For me the only thing that can stop Celtic winning is indiscipline or being distracted by their trip to Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Celtic started out 4/5 favourites but best price now is 8/13 at Ladbrokes and also being backed is Celtic -1 at 13/8 with Paddy Power.

Both sides have been conceding goals since day one so there should be plenty today. Over 2.5 goals looks a given at 7/10 at Boylesports while both to score pays 10/13 at 888sport and that’s what I’m advising.

Aberdeen v Inverness | Saturday 15:00

There are other games this weekend! I fancy Aberdeen at 5/6 with William Hill to beat Inverness at home although they have a poor record against the Highlanders.

That shouldn’t matter too much as Caley are inferior to previous years and their win over St Johnstone last weekend followed a run of four straight losses.

The Dons are a force on their own patch and I`m backing them to bounce back from their Celtic Park beating by taking the points at Pittodrie.

Alloa v Livingston | Saturday 15:00

Table-toppers Alloa face their toughest test in League One but their form shows no sign of dipping so take them to make it 11 wins in a row at 5/4 with Boylesports at home to Livingston.

The Wasps’ plastic pitch gives them an added advantage and they can edge out Livi who lost their 100 per cent start in the league when they crashed at Queen’s Park last time out.

Best Bets

Celtic v Rangers – Both Teams To Score (10/13 888Sport)

Aberdeen v Inverness – Aberdeen to win (5/6 William Hill)

Alloa v Livingston – Alloa to win (5/4 Boylesports)
