WILLIE Duncan (@Willie_Duncan) emailed in his Scottish selection early this week. He’s that confident!
Hibs v Rangers | Sunday 12:45 | Sky Sports 3
This tipping lark isn’t always easy, you know. You spend hours studying the form and then the side that you have talked up produce an abject, pathetic performance (step forward, St Johnstone) and you end up looking very, very silly.
Sometimes, though, as soon as you look at the coupon, you see a price so eye-popping and jaw-dropping that you simply cannot resist getting involved – and that is the case this weekend.
Hibernian are 11/10 to beat Rangers on Sunday afternoon. Yes, you read that correctly; 11/10!
The Hibees are in great form, having gone 15 matches without a defeat and they are red-hot favourites now to finish a distant second to Hearts in the Scottish Championship.
Alan Stubbs’ team have won nine of their last 10 matches and this weekend, they have a home match against a side that they hold a 9-1 aggregate lead against in three league matches already this season – and, yet, they can be backed at odds-against!
Rangers have drawn each of their last five games, with the Ibrox club failing to beat the likes of Cowdenbeath, Livingston and Alloa Athletic – the bottom three sides in the Scottish Championship.
Stuart McCall may be in charge at Ibrox now, but he has inherited a dispirited and disinterested squad and the former Motherwell gaffer has a huge task on his hands if he is to turn things around in time for the trip to Easter Road.
Of course, if Hearts win at Falkirk on Saturday, Robbie Neilson’s side will secure the league title this weekend should the Hibees fail to win at Easter Road, so I’ll not have a clue what to hope for on Sunday afternoon should the Jam Tarts deliver again on Saturday.
However, I cannot resist tucking into the 11/10 quotes for a Hibs win on Sunday and that’s why it is my best bet from Scotland this weekend.
