THE DAILY RECORD’S Mr Fixit (@mrfixitstips) picks out his three best bets in Scotland this weekend.
Celtic v Motherwell | Saturday 15:00
Last weekend I witnessed as a one-sided a game as you’ll see – and that’s worrying for Motherwell on Saturday.
Celtic’s 6-0 defeat of ICT in the Scottish Cup highlighted the gap between top and bottom.
And Well prepared for their trip to Parkhead with a nightmare 7-2 defeat at Aberdeen. By all accounts it could easily have been double figures and you have to wonder how many Celtic will score against that type of defending with Brendan Rodgers’s side unstoppable at the moment.
I tipped them to win -1 and -2 against ICT and the handicaps is the place to look for value today with the champions no bigger than 1/8 at Skybet to beat Well.
Celtic have netted 11 times in three wins against Mark McGhee’s men this season, including a thrilling 4-3 success at Fir Park. The aggregate at home is 7-0 and I’ll again be on the Hoops -2 at 4/5 with Skybet.
Kilmarnock v Aberdeen | Sunday 13:00 | Sky Sports 1
Aberdeen head for Kilmarnock on Sunday on a high after hammering Motherwell 7-2 in midweek to make it eight wins in nine.
They’ll be confident of keeping the momentum going at Rugby Park where rookie Lee McCulloch fills in as Killie caretaker manager after Lee Clark’s shock departure to Bury.
The Dons love playing Killie – they’ve won the last eight meetings including a 4-0 rout at Rugby Park back in October and 5-1 drubbing at home in December.
They’ve scored 2+ in seven of those so take the Reds to win and Over 1.5 Goals at 5/6 with Paddy Power.
Brechin v East Fife | Saturday 15:00
I fancy goals in this meeting of two mid-table League One sides.
Only two of a dozen meetings in recent years haven’t gone Over 2.5 and both teams come into this one on the back of 2-2 draws last time out in the league.
888 are offering 42/41 for over 2.5 goals and it’s worth getting on.
