The new league season starts for the three leagues below the Premiership this weekend and I’m backing Falkirk away at Montrose to kick-start their campaign with maximum points.
The Bairns missed out on promotion last term after the league was stopped due to COVID when it was in their hands to take the title with nine games to play.
Two League Cup games so far have seen a 2-0 defeat to Dunfermline and a 2-1 win at home to Clyde on Tuesday night.
Montrose finished fourth last season when the season was curtailed and will hope they can achieve a play-off spot again. They’ve lost their last cup contests against Arbroath and League Two outfit Elgin at home on Tuesday. The hosts did pick a 3-3 draw with Premiership side Ross County after being 3-0 down, mind.
Falkirk will want to start the season with top honours and I’m hoping they can live up to one of the pre-season favourites by cashing for us at 37/40 with BetVictor.
