My selection this weekend comes from the Scottish Championship as Dumbarton host Morton on Saturday.
Morton have started the season well and currently sit fourth in the second-tier – they’re on an excellent run of form too.
Jim Duffy’s men have won six of their last eight games in the league, only losing once and that came away at Dundee United back in September.
Morton also reached the League Cup semi-final before bowing out to Premiership high-flyers Aberdeen at Hampden last month.
Dumbarton on the other hand sit one point above the relegation play-off zone; they’ve only won two games all season in league and cup, one of which was last weekend against rock-bottom St Mirren.
Before last week’s triumph, Dumbarton had been on a horrible 10-match winless streak that stretched back to August.
Although Dumbarton ended that run, I don’t think they’ll build on their positive result as they welcome one of the form sides in the division.
Morton are a well-organised side and I’m hoping they heap more misery on Dumbarton on Saturday by taking all three points.
