Rugby League – Take Trinity to out-class new boys on Friday night

Mikey Sio - Wakefield

RUGBY LEAGUE fanatic Andrew Day (@AndyDay81) has earmarked an angles of attack for Friday night’s Super League clash between Hull KR and Wakefield.

Hull KR v Wakefield | Friday 2nd February 2018, 19:55

As the new boys to Super League, all eyes will be on Hull KR on Friday.

With some solid acquisitions in Danny McGuire and Tommy Lee, I think they have more than enough to compete but consistency will be key in what is a tough start for them. Points in the first months against the likes of Catalans and Salford will be imperative given they also face last year’s Grand Finalists Leeds and Castleford in February.

Wakefield had a fantastic 2017 and will be looking to go on step further this year and break into the top four. They have managed to keep a hold of the majority of their squad and welcome back Tom Johnstone from long term injury.

How Johnson fairs will be of particular interest; he missed virtually all of last season with a knee injury but still managed to rack up seven tries!

With little head-to-head stats of any relevance to rely on, I am going for experience to overcome the passion of a newly-promoted team.

Wakefield were the fifth-highest try scorers last season – with 125 – and I expect them to score a few here. Wakefield to win with a -8.5 handicap at 11/8 (SkyBet) is the bet.
