THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Last 16 continues on Wednesday as Manchester United travel to Paris to take on PSG. Daniel McCulloch (@DMcCulloch1984) shares his betting thoughts.
PSG v Manchester United | Wednesday 6th March 2019, 20:00 | BT Sport
While this tie looks like a formality for PSG, Manchester United fans and staff can take some confidence from Ajax’s humbling of Real Madrid and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is no doubt telling his players all about the value of the first goal.
I find it difficult to foresee a United comeback but I do expect them to find the net. They have done so in 14 of Solskjaer’s 16 games in charge in all competitions, including scoring three times away to Arsenal, twice against Chelsea and also against Tottenham.
United did struggle in the first leg against PSG but I think they were a little cautious in that encounter and they cannot afford to be negative in this game. Paul Pogba is a loss but I think they can cope without Alexis Sanchez and feel that the 10/11 Bet365 are offering on Both Teams To Score is good value.
All six of PSG’s group stage matches saw both sides find the net and I expect such a run to continue here.
Romelu Lukaku also looks overpriced at 7/2 to score anytime. The United striker has scored braces in his two previous matches and while his record of scoring against the bigger sides is questionable, he is in a rich vein of form and is the Red Devils most likely goal threat in my opinion so is also worth a few pennies.
