Premier League Tips | 20th-21st September 2014

ANOTHER big weekend of Premier League action, and Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) is on hand with three bets to get involved with.

Aston Villa v Arsenal | Saturday 15:00

It’s been a terrific start to the season for Aston Villa with 10 points out of 12 collected in the league. I’m not having it though. I was fairly convinced back in August that the Midlands side would be involved in a relegation battle and I’m not willing to move my view on this with another 34 games still to play.

How can I pull apart their form so far? Well, let me try…Stoke seem to have gone off the boil at home this season, Hull had been in Europa League action three days before when Villa beat them and Liverpool were without Sturridge and Sterling last week. Okay, I’m trying! Arsenal are their opponents on Saturday and I just feel they’ll be too strong.

Villa tend to struggle at home (10 defeats out of 19 last season) and couldn’t beat Newcastle on their turf last month. Arsenal are unbeaten at Villa Park for 16 years and will arrive here knowing that three points are a must.

Swansea v Southampton | Saturday 15:00

Two of the most positive and impressive sides of the season so far go head to head on Saturday and I think we’ll see goals in the Swansea v Southampton match. The sides have scored 16 goals between them this campaign and both will be able to express themselves without fear – that’s what over-achievement breeds.

Over 2.5 Goals seems a reasonable shout, with the bet being a winner in six of the sides eight collective league matches this season. Two in-form positive sides, two ambitious young managers. Yeah, it’s got to be Overs!

Man City v Chelsea | Sunday 16:00

The big match of the weekend takes place on Sunday with champions Man City hosting top of the table Chelsea. The London club have undoubtedly been the best side in the league this season with four wins out of four while the champions have taken just one point from their last six.

Having said that I can’t swerve the opportunity to back the home side at 6/4. They’ve won 18 of their last 21 home games and this is a game they simply can’t afford to lose with Chelsea playing so well. City won the last clash between the sides back in February and I think this will be repeated on Sunday.

Best Bets

Aston Villa v Arsenal – Arsenal to win (5/6 BetVictor)

Swansea v Southampton – Over 2.5 Goals (11/10 BetVictor)

Man City v Chelsea – Man City to win (6/4 Coral)
