Premier League Tips | 20th April 2016

CHRIS Graham (@chrisgraham79) takes a look at the Wednesday night Premier League action for us.

West Ham v Watford | Wednesday 19:45

The Hammers go off really short here at 1/2 (that must be as short as they’ve ever been in the top flight) as they take on a Watford side who will reshuffle their squad with an FA Cup semi-final coming up four days later.

I was keen to take a stand against West Ham on Sunday against Leicester but they proved me wrong with a spirited performance against Leicester that almost resulted in a win at the King Power.

Any suggestions that they’d down tools after their FA Cup exit have been proved unfounded but they’re still quite a bit off the pace in terms of securing a Champions League spot.

I was keen to take on Watford as well at the weekend but they surprised me by beating West Brom (hope your weekend was better than mine!) but they’ll have a different line up on Wednesday.

Slaven Bilic’s side have been outstanding at Upton Park this season and can break their all-time top flight record on Wednesday by going unbeaten for a 15th consecutive game.

That should be achieved here against Watford on Wednesday although at 1/2 I’m trying to find another angle to exploit. The 6/5 on Under 2.5 Goals looks a decent price when you consider the lack of goals the Hornets have scored in 2016.

Watford’s winning goal against West Brom was just their seventh of the year in the Premier League and three of West Ham’s last five home league games have gone Under so at 6/5 I’ll get involved.

Liverpool v Everton | Wednesday 20:00 | Sky Sports 1

Not the most anticipated Merseyside derbies of recent season but this Liverpool side will be keen to maintain their excellent form that has seen them lose just once in 14 matches.

At some point though this tiring schedule must have an impact on the team and it may be the case we see their eye wandering towards the Europa League in the days and weeks ahead.

Although Everton are in action on Saturday in a season defining FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United I am willing to believe in they can put in a decent show here.

Yes, Roberto Martinez’s men haven’t won at Anfield this century but their away form has been decent with just three defeats in their last 22 matches on the road.

The Spaniard is under pressure at the moment and a poor performance against their arch-rivals will add more stress to him and his team with Saturday approaching.

Backing Everton +0.75 on the Asian Handicap appeals here. Even if they lose by a goal I’ll get half my stake back. You never know, this bruised side could hurt a tired Liverpool outfit.

Manchester United v Crystal Palace | Wednesday 20:00

It has to be Unders here as well when it’s quoted at 10/11 with William Hill. Both these sides have huge FA Cup semi-final matches at the weekend. United take on Everton while Crystal Palace meet Watford. Defeat would be damaging for both sides. Unlike here.

All you need to do know about Louis Van Gaal’s sides attacking insipidness was their narrow 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Saturday at Old Trafford. I was idiotic to play 2-3 goals expecting a bit more oomph from the Old Trafford outfit but it was not to be.

That’s five consecutive Under 2.5 Goals matches at Old Trafford for Manchester United now and it’s 14 out of their last 19 in Salford since the autumn.

Another point for Palace on Sunday as they crawl over the survival line and their stats are pretty damning as well with five of their last six matches going Under 2.5 Goals.

Alan Pardew has said he will chop and change his line up a little with the weekend in mind and while I feel they look too big at 8/1 I’ll play on Under 2.5 instead.

Best Bets

West Ham v Watford – Under 2.5 Goals (6/5 Betfair Sportsbook)

Liverpool v Everton – Everton +0.75 (43/40 Bet365)

Manchester United v Crystal Palace – Under 2.5 Goals (10/11 William Hill)
