HIS 11/5 pick on Arsenal to win and both teams to score was the highlight of Tuesday night’s bets, can Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) pull another one out the hat on Wednesday?

Man Utd v Burnley | Wednesday 19:45

My angle here is simple. I’m backing Burnley to score at Evens with BetVictor. Regular readers will know I love this market and I’m hoping Burnley can provide me with another winner in it.

Even though they didn’t play on Tuesday night (obviously) it was a bad night for Burnley as they fell back into the relegation zone. Victories for Hull and QPR have made the horror of relegation that little bit more competitive in the division. No doubt Sean Dyche will have communicated that to his players and emphasised the importance of this game.

Their opponents still don’t seem at one with themselves and Sunday’s last gasp equaliser against West Ham was not deserved. On Tuesday, manager Louis Van Gaal went out on some bizarre limb trying to outscore Sam Allardyce in a press conference. Don’t know about you, but I found it a bit cringe.

In many ways Burnley are the complete opposite of Manchester United. When it comes to playing as a unit and sum-bigger-than-their-parts mentality, than they certainly are. If you want a team to scrap for you, I’d pick Burnley over Manchester United.

So obviously I need them to score for my bet to come in. Since their first win of the campaign on November 8th they’ve scored in five of their seven away games and in four of the last five. They’ve scored twice in that run at the Etihad, White Hart Lane and the Britannia. That’s good enough for me.

Despite all the howls of derision, Manchester United’s defence has been pretty solid this season. Only Southampton and Chelsea have conceded fewer. They have leaked in four of their last five league games though and in six of their last eight. I’m hoping Burnley can add to that.

Southampton v West Ham | Tuesday 19:45

I”ll be getting involved with Southampton at 4/5 (BetVictor) to beat West Ham on Wednesday night. Not to a big stake mind, but it looks a fair price.

Southampton continue to astound and it looks like we may continue to be bored senseless of the following question being asked in the media every day, “So, xxx, do you think this Southampton side can finish in the Top 4?”. Yup, mate, you asked me the same last week. Oh, and the week before.

With QPR’s 2-0 away win over Sunderland on Tuesday night on the mind, the form of the Saints win at Loftus Road on Saturday looks a lot stronger now. That stoppage time win on Saturday could turn out to be a massive two-point steal come the balmy days of May.

Since their pre-Christmas blip, Southampton have won six of their next eight league fixtures and sit up in third place with a game in hand of fourth place Arsenal and sixth place Tottenham.

On Wednesday they face a West Ham side who haven’t been as fluent away from home all season. Just three wins from their 11 road trips hardly inspires and bearing in mind those victories came against Keith Millen’s Crystal Palace, Alan Irvine’s West Brom and Burnley, the case for Southampton hardens.

I’m happy to side with Southampton tonight at 4/5. Again, it’s not an amazingly sexy price, but based on the evidence in front of me, it’s a logical one.
