Premier League: Seagulls vulnerable to Foxes’ attack

Harvey Barnes - Leicester

Leicester v Brighton | Tuesday 26th February 2019, 19:45

Leicester finally dismissed Claude Puel of his duties after the Foxes were picked apart by Crystal Palace on Saturday evening, eventually losing 4-1.

Various senior Leicester players have outed the Frenchman for his tactics and will be relieved with his dismissal, particularly Jamie Vardy. Vardy is more versed when playing with a strike partner to allow him greater space in between the defenders.

Brighton aren’t in any kind of form and they’ve failed to win 24 of their last 26 games on the road. Chris Hughton aims his side to beat teams around the same position at home but on the road they are far from convincing.

Not only that, the Seagulls have plenty of injury concerns with Lewis Dunk, Solly March, Jose Izquierdo, Glenn Murray, Davy Propper, Dale Stephens and Jurgen Locadia all struggling to be 100% fit.

Leicester also remain comfortably top-half on the data metrics. They’re 12th in the Premier League table but the xG standings has the Foxes eight. I think the players will play with freedom and come out as victors in this one at 20/21 (BetVictor).

Newcastle v Burnley | Tuesday 26th February 2019, 20:00 | BT Sport

Two sides who have picked up of late meet on Tyneside on Tuesday night. Newcastle claimed a nice 2-0 win at home to Huddersfield at the weekend with new signing Miguel Almiron impressing on his full debut.

The Toon Army seem to have a bit of confidence in them after the surprise win against Man City a month ago. Before that they dispatched Cardiff 3-0 at St James’ Park and since then the Magpies have drawn at Molineux, and as mentioned, overcome Huddersfield.

Burnley are also in decent nick. They’re unbeaten in 2019 and they seem to be back to their old selves. Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes are on fire for the Clarets and that makes them the visitors a threat to anyone. Beating Spurs last time out was a clear message to the league, and it shows they mean business.

On the data, Burnley aren’t great. They’re shipping 1.90 xG per-game and their games are averaging 2.90 goals – the xG of those are at 3.10. Tom Heaton has been in inspirational form for the Lancashire club and he’s kept them in it for a few weeks now.

With Newcastle going well enough at home, but Burnley unbeaten for a while, the draw looks the most likely outcome at 12/5 (Bet365). The last two meetings on Tyneside have ended all-square and with both teams slowly getting out of relegation trouble it could be a result they both take.

Almiron made a huge impact for the Magpies last time out and given the amount of shots Burnley concede, he looks a good bet in the shots markets. Along with Salomon Rondon, Barnes has also been getting a fair few on-target. For all three players to have an effort on-target is 9/2 with Betfair and looks worth a small play.

Best Bets

Leicester v Brighton – Leicester to win (20/21 BetVictor)

Newcastle v Burnley – Draw (12/5 Bet365)

Newcastle v Burnley – Salomon Rondon, Miguel Almiron and Ashley Barnes all to have 1+ shot on-target (9/2 Betfair)
