OUR Saturday 3pm man, Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79), is back with his three best bets from the Premier League card.
Southampton v Hull | Saturday 15:00
It’s getting harder and harder to identify winners with the 2016/17 Premier League season drawing to a close and fewer and fewer sides involved in meaningful combat. Ok, that’s the excuses in.
Perhaps I’m falling for the something-to-play-for factor but I’m drawn to Hull on Saturday as they visit Southampton at St Marys.
As I mentioned in my preview of their match against Chelsea earlier in the week I just don’t feel Southampton this year. They’ve been the epitome of a mid-table side. They’ve failed to register a worthwhile result all campaign and have looked decidedly average.
Hull’s away record is absolutely awful, but surely now is the time to to step up to the plate? The Humberside side have taken just a point on their travels since Marco Silva turned up at the club, but in recent weeks they’ve been far from looking outclassed.
If ever there was an indicator of how determined this side are, just flick back a week to their brilliant win over Watford. Yes, the Hornets were awful but the fact Silva’s side won with 10 men was a great credit to them.
There’s nothing really in the form to suggest otherwise but the fact I can back them at odds against to take something from this match is worth a whirl. With Swansea breathing down their necks, you’d like to think Hull will be pumped for this.
Sunderland v Bournemouth | Saturday 15:00
Sunderland have stank out the Premier League for most of this decade and it’s only right that they’re going down this year. After backing them to finish bottom last season, this campaign I was much more hopeful of them being safe with David Moyes pulling the strings. How wrong I was?!
The club now resemble a dog on it’s last days. They are pissing and shitting all over the living room carpet and it’s pretty horrible to be honest. They are desperate to be euthanized. That will come on Saturday.
I never back Bournemouth. They’re always too short in the betting. They’re no massive value here, but decrepit, awful Sunderland need to be taking on.
It’s seven defeats out of nine for the Black Cats and the midweek defeat against awful Middlesbrough was another abomination.
Heads will be tilted downwards, spirits sapped, all hope gone. It’s worth backing on another bad day for Sunderland.
West Brom v Leicester | Saturday 15:00
I was keen to take on Leicester midweek against Arsenal but in fairness they performed with credit against the Gunners, and that provides hope for this match.
West Brom are a side who look gagging for the final whistle on this season. The Baggies haven’t scored for over a month and have accrued just one point from a possible 12.
A 0-0 draw at Old Trafford was followed by defeats to nil against Watford, Southampton and a Liverpool side always vulnerable in these situations.
While West Brom look jaded, lethargic, empty, fed up, it’s a different story for the Foxes. There’s a feel that their season has started again since Claudio Ranieri left the building and that’s been played out in their results with five wins in their last eight league matches.
I made a big play earlier in the week of stating that Leicester’s Champions League exit might take the gas out of their balloon. While I stick by that, they’re up against a side who are equally bereft.
Draw No Bet Leicester is around Evens on Saturday and I’m happy to have a suck on that against this West Brom side counting the days to the holidays.
