Looking at this forthcoming weekend’s fixtures, the match-up of Bournemouth and Everton immediately caught my eye and got me thinking, ‘goals, goals and more goals’.
So far this season the four matches Bournemouth and Everton have played in have produced 12 goals with two 2-1 scorelines and a 2-2, with an average of 3.00 goals per-game.
When you take a deeper look at the recent Premier League clashes between the Cherries and the Toffees you’ll see that all the results and statistics suggest goals flow regularly when the two teams meet.
The last six Premier League games between the pair have produced the following scorelines – 2-1, 2-1, 6-3, 1-0, 2-1 and 3-3.
That’s 25 goals in six encounters at an average of 4.10 goals per-game – five saw Over 2.5 Goals, five also featured Both Teams To Score and four returned Both Teams To Score and a winner.
Now early value thieves have taken the 10/11 on offer for Both Teams to Score and odds-against on Over 2.5 Goals, but those prices vanished after Everton and Bournemouth picked up their respective 2-1 wins at the weekend.
The betting angle
Bournemouth and Everton are clearly two sides set up to attack and be confident, both have their strengths in the offence and that should create an open, entertaining match where the goal opportunities flow.
You can still get evens on Over 2.5 Goals with Coral and 3/4 (Coral) on Both Teams To Score – those are not huge prices but they could look pretty big come the final whistle, for me they look the rock solid selections in this match.
If you want options to consider at bigger odds then three of the last 6 matches have produced 2-1 scorelines and four of the 6 have had a one-goal winning margin – you can get 10/1 (Bet365) on a 2-1 Bournemouth win or 10/1 (Bet365) on a 2-1 win for Everton.
If Both Teams To Score and a winner are your thing then Bournemouth win and BTTS is around 21/5 (Coral) and Everton win and BTTS is 17/4 (Coral).
I’m really looking forward to seeing how this match evolves and I hope the likes of Richarlison, Josh King, Ryan Fraser, Theo Walcott and Callum Wilson get those goals flying in.
