DARTS analyst Andrew Francis (@ALeagueAndy) shares his verdict on the best bets from Sunday’s Day 4 of the 2019 PDC World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace.
Gabriel Clemens v Aden Kirk | Sunday 16th 2018, 12:40 | Sky Sports
Both men make their debut in the competition on Sunday and both will be looking to make a big impression but Gabriel Clemens is the clear favourite with the higher Order of Merit placing and some really impressive metrics.
His percentage of games won in 12 darts or less is the second best in the 3rd Quarter, whilst his 3-dart average is over 90.
Aden Kirk can’t match him across the stats and I think that should be telling when the two take to the stage. Make Clemens the first part of an attractive double with Luke Humphries.
Luke Humphries v Adam Hunt | Sunday 16th 2018, 19:10 | Sky Sports
This one should be fairly close with the two being separated in the Order of Merit by just eight places but Humphries has the slight edge in every way, which should prove to be enough.
Perhaps the most telling is that Adam Hunt hasn’t hit a 100+ outshot in 2018 and that could prove to be the big difference if Humphries turns up and plays well.
Back the Gabriel Clemens/Luke Humphries win double at 63/50 (Bet365).
Brendan Dolan v Yuanjun Liu | Sunday 16th December 2018, 14:00 | Sky Sports
This one looks fairly academic and finding the value is tricky with Brendan Dolan expected to walk this one with ease.
He’s got the beating of Yuanjun Liu in every category, especially in the 3-dart average where Dolan has a 16-point advantage.
Dolan will be looking to put in a good performance though before potentially facing Joe Cullen in the next round and he could rack up some 180s.
Brendan Dolan to hit Over 3.5 180s is evens with Bet365.
Ross Smith v Paul Lim | Sunday 16th December 2018, 20:30 | Sky Sports
Another close one to call and both could make a claim for being the favourite here.
Ross Smith probably has the slight edge but I can see this one going the distance and Paul Lim to profit on the handicap could be the way to go here.
Smith looks favourable in a few different metrics but Lim has had a good 2018 and has reached the Last 32 of the competition before.
I’ll have Lim +1.5 on the handicap as the first part of a second double.
Matthew Edgar v Darius Labanauskas | Sunday 16th December, 19:50 | Sky Sports
This match up looks the closest to call in the tournament so far with the bookies unable to separate the two.
I’ve found it tricky myself and the 180 market looks to be the best route with both players likely to be going for it from the beginning and five sets likely between the two.
Over 6.5 180s could be the value selection, and can be double with Lim +1.5 for a nice 2/1 pay day (Bet365).
