Nurnberg v Eintracht Frankfurt | Monday 19.30 | BT Sport Europe

It’s Bundesliga ‘do or die’ time for both Nurnberg and Eintracht Frankfurt in the Grundig-Stadion on Monday night. The game sits poised at 1-1 and a fascinating encounter awaits us.

Eintracht absolutely dominated possession in the first leg; with 74% of the ball they must be wondering how the game finished as a stalemate, especially as Nurnberg didn’t register an attempt on-target and their goal was a helping hand from Marco Russ in the Frankfurt defence.

Has Frankfurt’s chance gone now? They’ll be disappointed not to have taken more of their chances and they’ll have to attack, as Nurnberg have the priceless away goal.

Frankfurt’s stats on the road this season, read like my German A Level grammar exam, painful viewing. With 10 defeats in their last 15 away from their base, it would take a brave man to raise their hand suggesting a comfortable away win.

On the flip side, as you’d expect, Nurnberg have enjoyed a strong record at the Grundig, with only a solitary defeat in the last 15 and 10 victories to their name. As mentioned in the first leg,

Nurnberg possess a potent attacking threat which may be more evident in the home encounter. Guido Burgstaller and Niclas Füllkrug have 27 goals between them this year and will be looking to expose any holes in the Frankfurt’s defence as the away side are forced into attacking tonight.

The last five encounters at the Grundig-Stadion between these sides have seen two home victories, a draw and two Frankfurt victories. My view is that despite the divisional gap, there is not a lot to choose between the sides.

So where to go for our selection? The 44/25 (Marathon) looks a tempting offer on a home win, but thinking that whilst they might not ‘parken den Bus’ – a draw actually would suffice for Nurnberg.

So playing somewhat more cautiously, we’ll throw a few Bratwürsts at the 49/50 (Marathon) on Nurnberg 0 on the Asian Handicap; a bet that works in exactly the same format as the Draw No Bet market, returning our stake should the match finish as a draw.

Best Bets

Nurnberg v Eintracht Frankfurt – Nurnberg 0 Asian Handicap (49/50 Marathon)
