NORWICH host Manchester City in Saturday’s evening Premier League kick-off. Chris Clark (@ChrisClark1975) shares his verdict.
Norwich v Manchester City | Saturday 14th September 2019, 17:30 | Sky Sports
The Manchester City juggernaut rolls into Carrow Road on Saturday evening, and you can’t see anything other that a comprehensive away victory. City have been imperious this season, only dropping points in a one-sided game at home to Tottenham.
Even as a Spurs fan, I know Spurs dodged an almighty bullet that day. City had 30 shots in that Etihad encounter, and in fact they’re averaging 19.5 shots pe- game already this term. You can certainly see them averaging something similar again on Saturday st Norwich.
Norwich are operating an open approach to the Premier League, and whilst they’re posting an average of 10.50 per-game, they’re conceding 16.50. That is way too many against a side of Man City’s quality.
You would imagine Raheem Sterling, who by the way is in the form of his life, and Sergio Aguero who has an excellent record against Norwich (five goals in five starts) will be testing Tim Krul at every opportunity. SkyBet have a multi-bet offer of Sterling and Aguero to have 2+ shots on target at 9/4 and if both players start. That is excellent value.
Certain pundits, and I’m looking at you Charlie Nicholas, are predicting plenty of goals at Carrow Road (Nicholas predicts a 6-2 City win) and the bookies are wise to that, so there is little value knocking around the goals markets.
So I’ve taken a different spin on this game, and note that Kevin ‘no-ones’ Friend is in charge of this game. Friend is not a good referee at this level, and is very card-happy. In fact, he leads the way in the card index charts in 2019/20, averaging 60 Bookings Points per-game, and he’s only officiated three matches!
Bet365 are offering 6/5 for Over 3.5 Cards. Hopefully Kevin will be our friend after the match on Saturday evening with a full notebook to follow.
