Donte Moncrief

TOM Selwyn (@Tom_Selwyn) returns to share his expert view on the final Week 8 showdown as the Colts travel to the Panthers late on Monday night.

Indianapolis Colts @ Carolina Panthers| Tuesday 01.30 | Sky Sports 1

With the Colts massively underachieving and the Panthers overachieving to an extent, these two teams’ seasons could not have gone differently so far. Yet somehow, going into the week, both teams are leading their respective divisions – the underwhelming Colts at 3-4 and the undefeated Panthers at 6-0.

The Colts have been consistently poor to this point and they truly have benefitted from being in the woeful AFC South. But there’s been one other consistent thing from them and that’s the connection between QB Andrew Luck and WR Donte Moncrief.

I feel that Moncrief to score a TD at any point in this game is a big price and I’ll be backing him to do so at 9/4 with Paddy Power.

Moncrief may not have the most receiving yardage or the most receptions, ranking 32nd + 29th in the league respectively, but has been catching TDs with regularity and has already caught five in seven games this season.

However, when you break it down and only look at games when Luck was playing, this actually gives Moncrief five TDs in five games – very impressive and certainly highlights the good connection, especially down in the red-zone, between the two.

Scoring a TD is far from a sure thing, but you can’t ignore a 100% success rate in games that Luck has started, especially at better than 2/1 in places.

Best Bets
