Decent couple of winners for us last week and now we get a nice looking NFC North match-up this Monday night with the Lions visiting the Packers. As I write this, all four teams in the division have a winning record, making any games between them even more important than usual at this stage of the season.
It’s been a while since the Lions have looked this competitive, and it’s certainly been a while since they’ve been this entertaining in my view. QB Matthew Stafford is back to using his rocket arm, slinging it downfield with regularity and RB Kerryon Johnson is a superb player, showing off great power as well as agility.
I think Johnson has a nice match-up in this game and will be backing him to have Over 70.5 Rushing Yards (9/10 Unibet).
Johnson really got it going on the ground the last time that Detroit saw the field (it was their bye last week), piling up 125 yards in a losing effort against Kansas City. He’ll now be facing a Green Bay run defence that has not looked good, neither statistically nor visually.
The Packers are ranked 26th in the league against the run, allowing 138.2 yards a game on the ground, which is really not good.
Indeed, in the live games I’ve watched that Green Bay has been involved in the holes that opposing rushers have had to run through have been huge – they were very lucky to get a lead against Dallas early on last week as I think Ezekiel Elliott could have had a very big game if the Cowboys didn’t have to largely abandon the run.
I think that Detroit’s defence should be able to prevent Green Bay from getting away and so Johnson will hopefully get the volume he needs to pile up yards.
