NFL – Brilliant Bears to shine on Monday night

NFL nut Kyle Robins (@AhhYeahKyleYeah) shares his expert opinion on the best bets available from Monday Night Football.

Seattle Seahawks @ Chicago Bears | Tuesday 18th September 2018, 01:15 | Sky Sports

With opening weekend producing an average of 47.8 points per game (3rd most in NFL history), 12 pick-six return touchdowns (2nd most since NFL-AFL merger) and 88 points in the Bucs @ Saints matchup, shattering the opening day NFL Record for points. I think it’s fair to say, expect the unexpected this season.

Now with Week 1 behind us, this Monday night matchup looks a rather intriguing one, as Russell Wilson leads his Seahawks into Solider Field to take on the Bears. Both teams are coming off heart-breaking loses opening week and will be looking to bounce back. The bears threw away a 20-point lead in Lambeau, whilst Seattle lost in a close clash with the Broncos, allowing Case Keenum to throw for 329 yards & 3 touchdowns.

Seattle’s defence did manage to force Keenum into 3 interceptions, but the fact of the matter is, despite this, they still allowed 27 points and showed that without forcing turnovers, they find it pretty hard to get off the field defensively.

Trubisky and the Bears won’t be so careless with the ball come Monday night, and given Seattle’s struggles against the run game to, Jordan Howard and Tarrick Cohen could have a field day. Denver’s rookie duo of Royce Freeman (Ironically good first name) & Phillip Lindsay accumulated 71 yards each off just 15 carries (142 total), so just imagine the damage Howard and Cohen could do.

Given their struggles defensively, it’s an accomplishment in itself Russel Wilson managed to keep the game so close. Playing behind what still is one of the worst offensive lines in football, Wilson Is continuously running for his life, and fresh off suffering at the hands of Von Miller last week, to the tune of 3 sacks, you can guarantee he won’t be looking forward to Khalil Mack lining up opposite him this Monday night.

On his Bears debut, Mack single handily tore into Green Bay last week, accumulating a sack, forced fumble, fumble recovery, interception & a touchdown. ALL IN ONE HALF! Now just imagine the havoc he will wreak on Seattle’s O-Line this time round.

Now despite everything pointing against Seattle, they still have Russel Wilson under centre, and with that man working his magic, anything is possible. Saying that, I still think Chicago wins this game. Purely down to their superiority on the defensive side, and their ability to run the ball downfield, slowly wearing down this Seattle defence.

Given all of the above, ill be approaching this game in a few areas. Obviously one that most intrigues me is over on Jordan Howard’s rushing yards, but his line looks set to be quite high, so I’ll be taking him anytime touchdown scorer at 6/5 with Betfair. Secondly, I will be taking Chicago -3 at 10/11 with Bet Stars. As I mentioned, I don’t think Chicago will be as turn over prone as Denver were last week, and Seattle will struggle to keep up defensively.

One final area of attack is the 19/20 being offered on Seattle to punt the most with William Hill. The Seahawks punted 6 times last weekend against Denver, whilst Chicago showed their ability to march down the field on enough occasions to warrant me taking this.

Best Bets

Seattle Seahawks @ Chicago Bears – Chicago Bears -3 (10/11 Bet Stars)

Seattle Seahawks @ Chicago Bears – Jordan Howard anytime touchdown (6/5 Betfair)

Seattle Seahawks @ Chicago Bears – Seattle Seahawks to punt the most (19/20 William Hill)
