Two old foes meet for the first time in almost a decade at Old Trafford in what should be the most entertaining game this weekend.
It’s always an interesting watch when Leeds are involved given their fluid formation and intensity they play at, they will be looking to take advantage of a Manchester United side that have hardly had a full week off this season.
The Red Devils are odds-on favourites which is a bit strange, they do their best work away from home but they’ve won just the one game in the league at base and that was a dull 1-0 against strugglers West Brom.
Goals have been hard to come by for Man Utd at home too and Leeds have impressed on the road, scoring in all their away days. They’ll be buoyant after an impressive win over Newcastle, a game where they fired in plenty of efforts on goal, as per. Patrick Bamford was once again on the scoresheet and with Jack Harrison and Raphinha flanking him, the Whites have more than enough to get a result.
We can get some 4/5 backing the visitors with a +1 start on the Asian Handicap and that makes a lot of appeal. Backing this selection would see us profit if Leeds avoid defeat and we also get the safety net of our stake bet if Man Utd win by 1 goal. You’d have banked full profit backing this bet in 5/6 United home games this season and you’d have not lost your stake in all 6.
I’ll also chance a longshot and take Both Sides To Score A Penalty at a bulbous 33/1 on BetVictor’s BetBuilder market, this can be manufactured on the ‘Method Of Goal’ tab.
Anthony Taylor has the whistle and he’s been rife for pointing to the spot this season with 9 in 12. What’s more striking is he’s given multiple penalties in 4/9 premier league games this season.
What’s even more intriguing than that is the fact this exact same bet has landed in two games Taylor has taken charge of featuring these two. Leeds’ 4-3 win against Fulham and Manchester United’s 6-1 drubbing at home to Spurs. Given how many penalties are being awarded with VAR now in place, I’d expect this to be half the price with the two sides and referee appointment. It’s got to be worth a quid or two.
