THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE returns on Tuesday night. Here Adam Goodwin (@AGJournalism) picks out his favourite fancy from the match-up between Manchester City and Napoli.
Manchester City v Napoli | Tuesday 17th October 2017, 19:45 | BT Sport
Manchester City absolutely blew Stoke away on Saturday, battering them 7-2 at the Etihad. They’re playing some incredible football recently and they’ve now scored five or more goals in their last three home games.
I like the look of the 7/4 on City to score over 103.5 Premier League goals with Bet365.
Citizens are flying
But back to Champions League, and Pep Guardiola’s side overcame a tricky tie against Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk in matchday two and smashed Feyenoord 4-0 away from home in their opening game of Group F.
Pep Guardiola has won the Champions League twice as a manager and you wouldn’t it past him winning it again.
Napoli’s feared front three
Napoli are the only team in Europe’s top five league to have a 100% record, and yet they’re still best price 19/4 to win this game. They beat Roma 1-0 away from home on Saturday evening, and it was one of their lethal frontmen, Lorenzo Insigne, who bagged the goal.
Insigne, Jose Callejon and Dries Mertens have formed an incredible partnership in attack and the Manchester City defence, who has been suspect in the past, will need to pay close attention to ‘MIC’ on Tuesday.
The betting angle
Both sides have scored a combined total of 69 goals between them this season and I think they’ll both add to on Tuesday.
Maurizio Sarri has hailed Man City as “clearly the best side in Europe” and from what we’ve seen so far this campaign, it’s hard to argue with that. Despite not suffering a league defeat since 25th February I don’t fancy them to win this one at the Ethiad.
Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has also said that he wants coach Sarri to rest his top players so that they’re ready for the big match against Inter Milan at the weekend – whether Sarri will or not is yet to be seen.
Manchester City look unstoppable at the moment and with Sergio Aguero rumoured to return, they look good value to record a win. Man City to win and Both Teams To Score is 8/5 with Stan James and I can’t see a reason for this not to come in.
