Man Utd v PSV Tips | 25th November 2015 | BT Sport Europe

MANCHESTER United look to wrap up a place in the Champions League knockout stage on Wednesday against PSV. Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) with the verdict.

Manchester United v PSV | Wednesday 19:45 | BT Sport Europe

Manchester United take on PSV 11 weeks after the sides met in Eindhoven looking for a better night this time round. That mid-September meeting came in the opening matchday of this group and was a painful night for United in many ways.

Not only did Louis Van Gaal’s side lose 2-1 but they also lost defender Luke Shaw to an horrific injury that looks likely to have ended his season. A better night here is a must.

And a better night looks very much on the cards. United look an improved side from where they were two months ago and Van Gaal’s methods are slowly but surely starting to work in a wholly unspectacular way. Under the Dutchman United seem to be grinding through the season, and if your grinders you tend to be strong at home.

Yup, for all the flak Van Gaal takes his record at Old Trafford is exemplary. United won 14 of their 19 Premier League home games last season and are unbeaten this season in six league matches.

They’ve been grinding at home in the Champions League too. A 2-1 win over Wolfsburg was followed by a brutal 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow. Commiserations if you watched that game live that evening.

I’m not sure PSV are good enough to get anything from this match, Yes, they beat Van Gaal’s men in Eindhoven but perhaps there’s a case to suggest that Shaw’s injury spooked the United rank that night. After all it’s their only loss in the group.

PSV have lost both their away games in this group. A loss to CSKA is the only time the Russians have won in Group B while a 2-0 defeat in Wolfsburg was fair.

As you’d expect, Manchester United are prohibitively priced here at 1/2 but I’m going to take the Total Goals route in this game and back 2-3 goals at 21/20. United are capable of scoring two while PSV (notched in three of their four group matches and with 34 in the Eredivisie) can bring fun to the party too.
