GUEST tipster Carl Jones (@CJBettingPro) was desperate to share a bet from Monday’s La Liga clash. So of course, we gave him the stage to tell us where our money should be heading…
Malaga v Valencia | Monday 19.45
You might find coming home from work after a long Monday and see there’s is a distinct lack of football happening around Europe. I would recommend banking some brownie points with the mrs for when those big Champions League games come around. But before you do, there’s a bet from La Liga we should be on.
The game isn’t on TV so, once you’re on, check back later once the mrs is sound asleep. Hopefully, Monday will end with one happy mrs and a very happy betting account too.
Malaga meet Valencia for the first time in 2015 and the hosts will be out for revenge after the 3-0 defeat to Los Che back in August. The last time Valencia travelled to Malaga it ended in a 0-0 stalemate and in fact, their last three trips to the La Rosaleda have seen the Bats fail to score. But I don’t expect that trend to continue.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have scored in 8/9 away games. And Valencia are on a great run, having only lost once since the start of December. They’ll be looking to keep that record intact on Monday night.
On the other hand, Malaga going through a bit of a blip. The Anchovies have failed to record a win in six and only netted once in their last four outings. All four games were played over a busy 11-day period and that schedule could work against Javi Garcia’s men as they prepare to take on in-form Valencia.
From the outset it looks like it will be a very tight game but I think with the attacking trio of Alvaro Negredo, Rodrigo and Dani Parejo for Valencia are well capable of getting a goal for the visitors. You can back an away goal at a modest 7/10 with William Hill.
Los Che are certainly a tasty price at 9/5 (BetVictor) but you can play it safer by taking Betfair’s 19/20 on Nuno’s charges in the Draw No Bet market. But I still think Malaga will net and so that opens up a different angle to profit from.
Call it gut feel, or just the fact that overall they are a decent side at home, Malaga have scored in 9/11 matches at La Rosleda and I’m happiest taking the Both Teams To Score bet at 10/11 with William Hill.
I’m not a fan of so-called ‘anti-betting’ and going against goals. I’d much rather celebrate a goal rather than sweat throughout a match hoping they don’t come.
As I said before, collect those brownie points tomorrow or if you have enough of them already (which, if you do, can I borrow some?) then you can watch the game streamed on Bet365.
