AN easy win for Celtic on Wednesday when they take on Kilmarnock? Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) looks at the odds.
Kilmarnock v Celtic | Wednesday 19:45
This match has come at the worst possible time for Kilmarnock. Gary Locke’s men have made a woeful start to the campaign with a 2-0 loss against Aberdeen on Sunday preceded by a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Dundee.
Locke’s record since being given the job full-time has been awful. April 3rd was the date his appointment was confirmed and since then Killie have gone P10 W1 D0 L9. Do you think the Rugby Park directors have any regrets?
Celtic arrive here on the back of two comfortable if unspectacular league wins over Ross County and Partick Thistle. Both games were won by two goals to nil and with the Glasgow side in the Champions League play-off round there’s certainly an air of positivity around the club just now.
Celtic are going for their ninth consecutive victory over Kilmarnock on Wednesday night and that should certainly be achieved but at best price 2/9 there’s certainly no value kicking around.
The key for me is Kilmarnock and their 2015/16 ineptitude so far. Just six shots have been accumulated by them in their two games this season and alarmingly only one of them was on target. This could be a long night for Killie.
The obvious move is to back Celtic to win to nil, but at 10/11 it’s of no huge appeal. Likewise with Celtic -2 on the Asian Handicap or Half-Time/Full-Time so I’m dipping into the Correct Score market.
It may be that Locke organises his men to keep things as tight as possible as to avoid another bad defeat but that may be beyond them. I’ll back a 3-0 and 4-0 Celtic win at 13/2 and 10/1 respectively.
