What a top night of Serie A football! Juventus versus Napoli is probably the biggest match we’ve been waiting for in the last four years. In recent times Juve have literally destroyed the chances of their contenders, indeed they’ve finished 17 points ahead of AS Roma over the last two seasons.
This year things have changed. We were one of the few believing in Maurizio Sarri’s Napoli at the start of the seasonand they are giving us credit leading the table by two points ahead of Juve and playing indisputably the best football in Italy and maybe even Europe wide.
Apart from the first three matches in Serie A, I have never never seen Napoli suffering against any team this season. They have always played their football, at their pace and have created chances so easily.
Sarri’s side have lost only once since those early days. That was in a very strange match against Bologna where they wasted huge chances throughout the match.
When they’ve failed to win they’ve been held 0-0 by teams who sit back and fail to be adventurous. These sides fail to create chances and often never come out of their own half; this happened against Roma, Carpi and Genoa. Juve will obviously have a different approach and that’s very much influencing my bets here.
Despite the bianconeri not being an offensive team, they have clearly the best players in the league and Napoli are overcoming their quality deficit with a perfect tactical approach.
My plan on Saturday is to back goals and Napoli on the Double Chance. The Neapolitans have lost only twice so far in Serie A and Gonzalo Higuain is at the peak of his career. It’s now or never for them to win the league.
