Hull v Chelsea: Tigers can trouble rotated Blues

Jarrod Bowen

HULL welcome Chelsea on Saturday evening in the FA Cup 4th Round. Anthony Olsson (@Ant_olsson93) analyses the encounter.

Hull v Chelsea | Sunday 25th January 2020, 17:30 | BT Sport

Hull host Premier League side Chelsea on Saturday evening in the FA Cup and the Tigers will be looking to cause an upset as they seek to reach the 5th Round of the competition.

Hull have lost their last two games by a 1-0 scoreline but they were in good form before that having won four of five fixtures across all competitions. The Tigers are 12th in the Championship and seven points off a play-off place so they’ll be able to approach this game without any pressure.

Chelsea will most likely make changes with Champions League qualification their priority but they’ll still pose a big threat. The Blues’ recent form has been patchy with a win, a loss, and a draw in their last three. Hull will take encouragement from that. However, It’s worth noting that Chelsea haven’t lost away from home to lower league opposition since 2008.

Hull’s home record is good and they have won four of their last seven games with plenty of goals scored in those wins. Home striker Tom Eaves scored a hat-trick in the last round and he’ll probably be leading the line again on Saturday evening.

Both Teams To Score in this match is 4/5 (Betfred) and I think that’s a good angle. Hull have scored 21 goals in 14 league matches at home this season and have conceded 17. Their opponents have scored 25 goals away and conceded 20 and with changes likely, I think there could be more goals conceded.

Hull’s top scorer, Jarrod Bowen, has been in great form netting 17 times this term. Bowen has been linked with a move away recently and an FA Cup game on the TV could be a great advert for him.

Bowen will be the focal point of Hull’s attack and I think he could get some joy against a ‘weaker’ Chelsea side. Bowen is 14/5 (Unibet) to score at anytime and should he do so there are bound to be more clubs interested in the attacking midfielder.
