THE Premier League continues this Sunday as Huddersfield welcome Bournemouth to the John Smith’s Stadium. Ben Levene (@BenLevene96) shares his best bets.
Huddersfield v Bournemouth| Sunday 11th February 2018, 12:00 | BT Sport
Now sitting in the relegation zone, and odds-on for the drop, David Wagner’s Huddersfield side are looking for a change of fortune.
Struggling Huddersfield
The Terriers have lost five league games on the bounce, and are without a win in eight. Four of those five loses have been to nil, while they’re also five games without a win at home.
Wagner fielded a strong side for Tuesday’s FA Cup replay at Birmingham in order to stop the rot. They were taken to extra-time, where they eventually ran out 4-1 victors.
Much improved Bournemouth
Bournemouth themselves were deep in trouble at the end of 2017, however now sit in the top-half. The Cherries have clicked and are an impressive seven league games unbeaten, including each of their last three travels. That run includes wins against Arsenal and Chelsea.
Furthermore, Eddie Howe’s side are six away games unbeaten at non top-six opposition, and have lost just one of their last 13 against sides outside the top-six.
End product the difference
They’ve registered at least six shots on target in five of their last seven in the Premier League, and their threat in front of goal is what sets them apart from the sides at the bottom.
Conversely, Huddersfield have failed to score in three on the bounce, and have had just six shots on target cumulatively across their last six league matches.
The Terriers are without captain Tommy Smith too, while Christopher Schindler and Laurent Depoitre are both out.
Bournemouth are a tempting 6/4 to gain all three-points, but instead I am happy to take the reduced risk and back them at 37/50 in the Draw no Bet market.
