RACING fan Gaurav Chaddah (@GauravChaddah) shares his NAP and his best each-way bet on Day 4 of Royal Ascot on Friday.
NAP: 3:40 – Ten Sovereigns (5/4 SkyBet)
Ten Sovereigns is a short price for this Group 1 prize but I’d be very disappointed if he couldn’t get his head in front here.
The race has cut some strong chances, with long-time favourite Calyx out injured and the unfortunate passing of Lady Kaya, which means the selection has an easier task than expected.
The three-year old was fifth in the 2000 Guineas where he went off favourite but clearly didn’t see the trip and back to six furlongs, should take all the beating after looking so good at two.
Jash, (5/1 Coral) is held by Ten Sovereigns on form, having went down to him in last year’s Middle Park Stakes and I see no reason to why he can reverse that form.
Hello Youzmain, (5/1 Bet365) is short enough after beating Calyx at Haydock last time but with Calyx clearly not at it that day and now news coming out about an injury, perhaps that win flattered him somewhat.
Charlie Hills often does well with sprinters and Khaadem, (7/1 Bet365) is still rather unexposed and may go well and the forgotten horse in the race is certainly Advertise, (11/1 William Hill) who was second over course and distance in last year’s Coventry behind Calyx, and has been tried up in distance but comes back to six here and can go well.
Ten Sovereigns however I think could be a class apart and his two-year-old form is impressive enough to land this and Advertise may well place too.
Each-Way: 2:30 – Exclusively (25/1 Bet365)
Archie Watson has been on fire with his two-year olds so far this season and Exclusively may be the one to give him a Royal Ascot success this year.
I’m surprised she’s available as big as 25/1, having been well backed on debut, winning a Redcar novice, with the runner-up franking the form and then was second in a conditions race at Salisbury, beaten a neck, under a penalty, to Good Vibes, who then won a listed race at York. So the form is solid.
She is drawn in 12 which is a positive and Archie Watson is a genius with his juveniles and I think she can grab a place at least.
Galadriel (16/1 Bet365) represents another yard who do well with their juveniles in the form of Kevin Ryan and ran on well on debut, when thrown into the listed race won by Good Vibes and will improve for that. Daahyeh (6/1 Bet365) should go close too, having beat Queen Mary winner Raffle Prize on debut, which now looks a very smart piece of form.
