HORSE RACING expert Jake Russell (@JakeRuss1000) shares his his daily NAP with his best Wednesday bet arriving from Leicester.
2.30 Leicester | Wednesday 11th December 2019
A disappointing Tuesday and a massive drift before the off told the story really, as the well-backed favourite won very easily in the end. Our selection clearly needed the run before she can show her talent over fences.
Wednesday’s a new day with another new NAP. I’m going with Chambard (2/1 Unibet) in the Class 3 2m4f chase at Leicester at 2:30.
This is a horse that had a very solid debut over fences last time out at Sandown, getting beaten by a classy individual that day by just six lengths. The winner of that race has since then gone on to win a similar Class 3 event at Plumpton by over two lengths.
Our selection lacked fluency with his jumping, and was kept at the back of the field as a result. He did however get back into the race very well at the final bend but going from last to second in only a few furlongs may have taken al ot out of him then, resulting in the winner pulling away showing why he was a well-fancied favourite.
Our selection was 8/1 that day and didn’t particularly move much in the market, so him being the favourite in Wednesday’s race shows how well he performed last time out.
Apart from his jumping, he didn’t do anything else wrong that day, and if he can improve, he will be very hard to beat, in what is a much easier race. The forecast of rain overnight will also benefit this horse, as his best form has come on ground ranging from good-to-soft to soft.
With the experience over fences from his last run and the rain forecasted, this horse will be the one to beat with the conditions in his favour, against horses without much form to boast.
Venetia Williams’s horses are in fine fettle at the moment, with her main jockey Charlie Deutsch getting the leg up here. A jockey that I have said before is rated-highly and someone who has a bright future in the sport with some big winners to his name already. With the ever-expanding team Venetia has around her, this will be sure to propel Charlie’s career even further as time goes on.
I really like this horse’s chances on his ideal ground, trip and no real quality horses in opposition, unlike last time where there was a very well backed and fancied favourite. Wednesday he will be the favourite to beat.
Many thanks for reading, and please follow me on @JakeRuss1000.
