The Racing Post Trophy is the final Group 1 of the domestic season and looks a fantastic opportunity for Aidan O’Brien to break the record for most victories at the top level in a season. He has five in the race and is short odds to achieve it, but I think he may need to wait for his big moment.
Saxon Warrior (6/4 Bet365) is unbeaten in two starts and is the shortest price of the Ballydoyle battalion and the choice of Ryan Moore. He won a Group 2 at Naas beating a stablemate by over two lengths. A son of Japanese superstar Deep Impact, he looks a major player here and will relish the distance, but he may have run in to one here.
Jim Bolger seems to have a good habit of training high-class juveniles and Verbal Dexterity (4/1 Bet365) is already a Group 1 winner. He was a hugely impressive winner on debut and found only Beckford too good when stepped up to Group 2 level. He turned that form around in the National Stakes and looks like he will appreciate the additional furlong here.
I think he’s a very big price considering his previous accomplishments.

The Horris Hill Stakes is a seven-furlong Group 3 for juveniles and despite lacking any obvious stars it’s a good race. With soft ground it’s likely to be a test and despite the small field it could turn in to a slog.
Mythical Magic (5/2 Ladbrokes) was a good third in the Champagne stakes before fading late on in the Grand Criterium at Chantilly. This is an easier task, however he’s not sure to relish the soft ground and may be vulnerable late on in my opinion.
Dream Today (4/1 Ladbrokes) was second in a Newmarket Group 3 and drops slightly in trip. He looks like a stayer in the making and on this softer ground I think he will attempt to run his rivals in to the ground.
He doesn’t have anything to find to win this and I think he will be involved at the death.
