HOW will Rangers fare without Ally McCoist? Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) takes a look.

Hibs v Rangers | Saturday 12:15 | Sky Sports 1

Another week and another epic drama at Rangers, as manager Ally McCoist departed the club earlier in the week. Assistant manger Kenny McDowall has been put in charge until the end of the season.

On Saturday they face a tough trip to Easter Road to face a Hibs side seven points behind them in third place. Rangers go into this game at odds-against (5/4 with Coral) and that seems fair.

It’s three defeats in six for Rangers in all competitions, and just as the intensity of the Championship title race is hotting up, they’ve struggled to keep up. The 2-0 defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle in late-November set the panic alarm off, and that’s been followed by a Petrofac Cup defeat to Alloa and a stunning league loss to Queen Of The South. Overall, it’s just three wins in seven for Rangers.

After a bad start to the campaign, Hibs have found some real consistency this season. Just two defeats in 14 attests to that! One of the triggers for this great run was a 3-1 win at Ibrox at the end of September, so Alan Stubbs’ side won’t fear today’s task.

At Easter Road they’re unbeaten since August, and the fact Rangers have struggled against the Edinburgh sides this season, provides reason for siding with Hibs. Although the removal of McCoist may freshen things up for Rangers, Hibs are worth chancing at 5/2 with William Hill. The loss of such a charismatic man from the Ibrox set up may reduce confidence further.
