Everton v West Ham: Hammers have the potential to hurt Toffees

Andriy Yarmolenko - West Ham

EVERTON welcome West Ham to Goodison Park on Saturday . Anthony Olsson (@Ant_olsson93) analyses the encounter.

Everton v West Ham | Saturday 19th October 2019, 12:30 | BT Sport

Everton host West Ham in the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday and the Toffees will be looking to get back to some kind of form after a torrid run of results. Everton boss Marco Silva is under a lot of pressure but the Blues do have a chance to bounce back if they can get it right against the Hammers.

West Ham come into the game after a poor performance at home to Crystal Palace, a match that many thought Manuel Pellegrini’s men would be winning. On the road the Hammers hold a decent record and are unbeaten away (W1-D3-L0). In current form you would have to fancy the visitors to get a result out of this contest.

West Ham are 11/4 (Bet365) and it does look really tasty but I would be worried by an improved Everton performance. The Toffees haven’t performed badly on the data and it shows that they do create chances to win games. The hosts are averaging 4.80 shots on-target at home but have only managed five goals in those four games with three coming against Wolves.

Despite West Ham’s road record, the visitors concede 15.50 shots per-game. These stats would encourage Everton but I’ve yet to be fully convinced that they have the composure in attack to make the most of those opportunities.

With all of this in mind, I think the two sides will match-up well and West Ham could edge it. In the Double Chance market I like the look of Hammers at 47/50 (Marathon). This bet would provide a little bit of security in a game that has a few question marks over both sides.

Another angle I like is in the Anytime Goalscorer market where I like the look of Andriy Yarmolenko to find the net at 10/3 (SpreadEx). The Ukrainian has been in good form this season and has three goals in his last five games for club and country. Last season Yarmolenko managed to find the back of the net twice in this fixture and I think he could cause problems against a similar looking backline.
