PREMIER LEAGUE expert Daniel McCulloch (@DMcCulloch1984) previews New Year’s Day’s contest between Everton and Leicester at Goodison Park.
Everton v Leicester | Tuesday 1st January 2019, 12:30 | Sky Sports
The Christmas period has produced some strange scorelines and results, with these two sides being particularly inconsistent.
Leicester followed up victories over Chelsea and Manchester City with a home loss against Cardiff while Everton lost 6-2 at home to Tottenham before beating Burnley 5-1.
Trying to pick a winner therefore seems a little difficult, as they are not sides that you can particularly trust.
My angle is therefore quite simple: Both Teams To Score at 4/5 with Betfred is too big.
At the start of the season, I said that this Marco Silva style and record suggested that BTTS would be a profitably angle where Everton are concerned and that has been the case, with a league-high 13 games seeing both teams netting. Across his 63 matches in English football – at Hull, Watford and Everton, 36 (57%) have seen both sides score.
The Toffees entertain a Leicester side who have been similarly exciting under Claude Puel. Since The Frenchman arrived in the East Midlands, 29 of his 49 league matches have seen BTTS land. That’s 59%, while the odds imply that there is only a 55% chance.
I will probably supplement these choices with a 2-1 victory for either side but in terms of a tip I will simply suggest both sides to net at 4/5 with Betfred.
