GLOWING after a 9/1 winner on Saturday morning, Sky Sports’ Joe Drabble (@Joe_Drabs) returns to give us his views on the crunch match.
Ireland v Pakistan | Sunday 03:30 | Sky Sports 2
With a quarter-final carrot dangling in front of both sides, this could be one of the matches of the World Cup. The winner will book a last eight date with Australia next week in Adelaide, the venue of tomorrow’s crunch Group B fixture.
Pakistan come into the match on the back of a fine win over South Africa and have a small advantage over Ireland having already played at the Adelaide Oval earlier in the tournament, albeit in a losing cause against India.
Three group wins have put the Irish within touching distance of their first appearance in the knockout stages of a World Cup and they’ll head into Sunday’s game looking to repeat their famous victory over Pakistan in the Caribbean four years ago.
At 3/1 I’ll be having a nibble on Ireland to come out on top and I also fancy them to win the first 15 overs at 6/4 with Skybet. Pakistan are more cautious in their batting (they were 33-2 after 15ovs against Zimbabwe), whereas Ireland will look to tee off from the word go.
Speaking of batting, Misbah Ul-Haq continues to be the glue which binds the Pakistan line-up together and he’s 7/2 to be their top runscorer for a third successive match. Looks a great bet once again.
